Monica Whaley

Mrs. Monica Feighery Whaley, 57, passed away at 9 a.m. on Saturday February 7 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late, James and Helen Miller Feighery and was preceded in death by her nephew, James E. Norton.
Monica was born June 17, 1957 and was a lifelong resident of Dalton. She attended Dalton Junior College and was a member of the Roadrunner Cheerleading squad. She later built homes within the Dalton community and also bought and sold real estate projects. She was known for her redecorating and organizational skills in remodeling. She owned a decorating and wallpaper store as well as several small businesses throughout the years. She was successful later as a realtor and a member of the Carpet Capital Association of Realtors and a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club. Monica was an accomplished artist as well; practicing photography, jewelry design and painting. She loved to do bright oversized works. Her work was featured in Chattanooga City Scope Magazine as well as in the Chattanooga Times. She displayed work at the Creative Arts Guild, East Gate Town Center and Reflections Gallery. She was also commissioned to do works for private individuals and decorators alike.
Monica is survived by her husband, Ron Whaley of Dalton; daughters and son-in-law, Danielle Joyce Ezell and Alex and their son Oliver F. Ezell all of Blacksburg, VA, and Mallory Whaley of Chattanooga; sisters and brother-in-law, Mickey and Ed Norton and Vicky Gordon all of Dalton; niece, Tammy Holmes; nephews, Mike Gordon and Julia and their daughter Ella and Jeremy Norton.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Robin Lindsey officiating.
The family will receive friends at Love funeral Home on Tuesday from Noon til the Service at 2 p.m.
