Hazel Riddle of Dalton passed away at the age of 90 on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Tranquility of Dalton.
She was born December 4, 1924 in Carroll County, Mississippi to Willie Dee and Mattie Coggins and was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester C. Carson and her second husband Everette L. Riddle; her nine siblings, Wilma Thompson, Jack Coggins, Pete Coggins, Robert Coggins, Frances Hopkins, Becky Parker, Roy Coggins, Paul Coggins and Mac Coggins; and a step-daughter, Joy Lee.
She retired from Sears and Roebuck. She also attended Trinity United Methodist Church where she enjoyed being part of the Keenagers.
She is survived by her son, Mac Carson and his wife Cindy Carson of Cohutta, Ga. Her two granddaughters, Betsy C. Ward and husband Trace Ward of Auburn, Alabama. Molly C. Townsend and husband Zack Townsend of Calhoun, Georgia. She has five great grand-children, Carson Ward, Ella Jenkins, James Ward, Jack Jenkins, and Hazel Ward. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Shirley Satterfield and husband, Howard Satterfield of Dalton; step-grandchildren, Ward Satterfield and his wife Carol Satterfield, Mitchell Clure and wife Pat Clure, and Greg Clure and his wife Chris Clure. She also has five step great grandchildren, Mitchell Clure Jr., Ashley Clure, Kimberly Clure, Caleb Satterfield, and Josh Satterfield.
The family would like to thank Tranquility of Dalton for their care and compassion.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. Leslie Daniels of Trinity United Methodist Church and Zack Townsend officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Trace Ward, Dr. Thomas Edmonds, CS Lee, Howard Satterfield, Ward Satterfield, and Caleb Satterfield serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the Services at 3 p.m.
