Rev. Grover A. Broome, 84, of Dalton, passed away, Monday, December 22, 2008 at his residence.
He was a retired minister and pastored many churches in Whitfield, Murray and Walker counties for over 50 years; he retired from the City of Dalton after serving as sexton of West Hill Cemetery for 31 years and was a bailiff with Whitfield County Court for 17 years.
He was the son of the late, Walter and Bertie Hill Broome and was preceded in death by his brothers, Luther Broome, Troy Broome and Russell Broome; sisters,
Eula Mae Bramlett and Mildred Robot.
Grover is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, June Collett Broome of Dalton;
Very special relatives, Connie Cargal of Dalton, Marcie Beach Corbin and Amber Corbin both of Marietta, GA., Sheryl Gillean, Beverly Wimpy and Bruce Beach all
of Dalton; nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Beach and Dr. Danny Cochran officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday at the Love Funeral Home from 4 to
7 P.M. and they ask that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Olivia Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1291, Dalton, GA. 30722-1291.
