Mrs. Thelma Akins Alderman, Age 78, of Dalton passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Vinnie Lou Maddron Shelton and was preceded in death by her first husband, J.B.; 2 brothers and 1 half-sister. Thelma was a member of Resaca Church of God. Thelma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Doy Epperson, sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie and Tina Akins and Marty and Pam Akins; husband, Clint Alderman all of Dalton; sisters, Julie Bradford, Mickey Jeter, Jean Roland and Joann Parker; brothers, Willis Shelton, Estel Shelton and Harbin Shelton; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Resaca Church of God with the Rev. Mitchell Gaston officiating. Thelma will lie-in-state at the Church on Saturday from Noon until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery with Brady Akins, Anthony Akins, Jordon Akins, Cody Akins, Carrington Akins, Ronnie Moore, Greg Epperson, Tracy Angel, Edward Padgett and Gabe Carrell serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 855 Abutment Rd.
