Bobby Akins

Mr. Bobby Lee Akins, 76, of Dalton, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his residence. He was the son of the late, Robert L. and Bennie Herndon Akins and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Akins; son, Mitchell Akins; brother, Billy Akins, a step-son, Ronnie Dyer and son-in-law, Dale Fisher. Bobby was a member of the American Legion Post # 112, he loved to fish and was of the baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Laura V. Byers Akins of the residence; children and their spouses, Allan and Dana Dyer of Chatsworth, Jeff and Becky Akins of Calhoun and Melinda Akins Fisher of Chatsworth; sisters, Barbara Towe of Adairsville, Louise Hall of Calhoun and Ellen Towe of Adairsville; step-son, Curt Byers of Dalton; grandchildren, Holly Dyer, Stephanie Fisher, Josh Fisher, Lynn Dyer and Kathy Dyer; great-grandchildren, Faith Martin, Hope Martin, Alex Duke, Justin Patton and Kolby Bates; aunts, uncle, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Guffey officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery with American Legion Post # 112 in charge of graveside rites.
