Jon Evans

Jon H. Evans passed away June 16, 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was the son of the late Bertha Vera Thomason Evans and Mark Hugh Evans and was also preceded in death by his Dear Friends, Charlie Coker and Jimmy Slaughter Jon worked with several architectural firms including Bianculli and Tyler and Humphrey’s and Associates prior to establishing his own architectural firm, Evans Associates Inc. Architects. He designed many projects across the southeast during his long career. He served as President of the Chattanooga Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and also as President of the Chattanooga Chapter of the Construction Specification Institute. His love of Volvo’s led him to become President of the Chattanooga Chapter of the Volvo Club. Jon also enjoyed a lifetime membership in the National Rifle Association. Like his father, he was an avid collector of vintage handguns and rifles and spent many hours researching WWII history. He loved the outdoors and spent his younger years camping and trout fishing with family. He was a devoted husband and spent his last years caring for his wife Patricia. Jon is survived by his wife, Patricia Mullinax Evans; Daughters and sons-in-law, Monica Evans and Jeff Morosky and Lorey Evans and Marion Dill; grandchildren, Andrei Phillip Morosky, Joshua Tyler Dill and Joseph Adam Dill; cousin, Harry Martin Johnson Jr. A Memorial Service will be held at Love Funeral Home at 2 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2015 with Chaplin Ken Waddell officiating.
