Mr. Walter Alexander Whittle Jr., 88, of Dalton passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was the son of the late Walter A. Whittle Sr. and Ethel Chapman Whittle and was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Doris Jean Graves Whittle in 2005; sister, Omagene Johnson and brother, Seth Whittle. Walter was a veteran of World War II serving with the Merchant Marines and was a member of the Dalton First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Scrap Iron Sunday School Class. He was the owner of Whitco Produce Company. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Mock, Linda Whittle all of Dalton, Angie and David Redwine of Rocky Face; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Karen Whittle and Charles Whittle all of Dalton; grandchildren, Amanda(Josh)Holman, Courtney (Cory)Phillips, Dave(Allison)Whittle, Jeremy Mock, Jason Mock, Ian Whittle, Charles Whittle Jr. and Walter Whittle III; 8 great-grandchildren and all the special employees of Whitco Produce Company. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating and music by the Rev. Larry Flanagan. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or the family requests memorials be made to the Dalton First Baptist Church, P.O.
