Betty Norton

Mrs. Betty Barr Brackett Norton, 84, of Dalton passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Pruitt Healthcare in Ft. Oglethorpe.

She was the daughter of the late Bill and Bertha Talley Barr and was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Brackett in 1992, John Norton in 2012 and daughter, Bertha Brackett in 1972.

She was a member of Crown View Baptist Church.

Betty is survived by daughter, Beth Brackett Whaley of Dalton; son, Jerry Presley of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Rosa Barr of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrna and Troy Jenkins of Dalton and Martha and Virnon Williams of Tunnel Hill; grandchildren, Brittney Lowey, Halle Giddens and Noah Whaley; 2 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at Noon in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Wood and the Rev. David Friend officiating.

Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:30 until the service at Noon.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Crown View Baptist Church, 502 Tyler St. Dalton, Ga. 30720.
