Hubert F. Combs

Hubert F. Combs, Sr., age 94 passed away on August 24, 2015 at Regency Park Health Care Center of Dalton, GA. He was born February 15, 1921 in Fork Ridge, TN to the late Jim and Emma Johns Combs. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Virginia Estes Combs; brothers, Walter, Eugene, and James Combs; sisters, Evelyn Meyers and Lucille Carter; brothers-in-law, John, Joe, Charlie, Paul, and Frank Estes. Mr. Combs is survived by his son, Hubert (Dooner) F. Combs, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Judy Wood Combs; granddaughter and husband, Kimberly and Kevin Jarrell of Burleson, TX; grandson and wife, Brett and Katie Combs of Greensboro, NC; four great grandchildren, Hannah and Ethan Jarrell and Chase and Sam Combs; sisters-and-brothers-in-law, Thelma and Wayne Hall, Dorothy and Richard Jackson, Charlene Estes and Judy Estes; many nieces and nephews. He was a kind, sincere and devoted man whose smiling face and gentle ways brought joy to those around him. We would like to thank the staff at Regency Park for their kindness and care given to Hubert and Virginia since 2010. Our love and sincere thanks go to his sisters-and-brothers-in-law for their love and devotion given to him. Funeral services for Mr. Combs will be held on Friday at 11 AM in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Starnes officiating. Interment will be at Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
