Mr. Edmund John Brown, 89, of Dalton and formerly of East Falmouth, Massachusetts passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his sister May Brady and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WW II with the 8th Division in Cologne and Ruhr Pocket. He participated in combat against the enemy as a member of the rifle squad in Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns. He was wounded in action on April 10, 1945 and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was also a mechanical engineer for the Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy E. Brown of Dalton and East Falmouth, MA; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Michel Pare of Rocky Face and Falmouth, MA, Patricia and Joseph Turk of Colorado Springs, CO; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Linda Brown of Granby, CT, Christopher and Gloria Brown of Lino Lakes, MN. and Edmund J. Brown Jr. of West Boylston, MA; sister, Margaret Willis of Easton, MA. and brother, Richard Brown of Boston, MA; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Tim Nadolski officiating.
Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
