Jennie Bell Davis

Mrs. Jennie Bell Davis, 88, of Dalton, Georgia, formerly of Opelika, Alabama passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 after a brief illness.

Jennie was born on May 14, 1927 to the late Joe and Mae Bell and was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. Davis, Jr. and brothers, James and Pete Bell.

She loved to travel, her favorite trips were to Germany with her friends, to Paris and the UK, but most enjoyable were the trips to the beach with her grandchildren.

She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Sissy, her younger friends called her “Mama Jennie”.

Jennie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Derek and Debbie Davis of Rocky Face, GA, Nicky and Susan Davis of Signal Mtn., TN, and Jimmy and Patty Allen of Opelika, AL; grandchildren, Nicholas and Ashley Davis, Ashton and Robin Davis, Nick and Lauren Davis, Nelson Davis, Neal Davis, Bradley Allen and Patrick and Hillary Allen; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Davis, Stella Davis, Bo Davis, Bennett Davis and Coleman Davis.

Funeral Services for Jennie will be at 2:30 CST on Monday at Jeffcoat - Trant Funeral Home in Opelika, Alabama with Dr. Robin Lindsey officiating.

Burial will be in Garden Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday from 1:30 to 2:30 CST.
