Ethelyn Greeson

Ethelyn B. Greeson passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the age of 88.

She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Bonnie Brown of Calhoun. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy P. Greeson, brother R.C. Brown, many aunts, uncles and cousins, step-father Harlan Holcomb and 3 step-sisters.

She is survived by 2 nephews, Steve and Scott Brown and their families and one step-sister Peggy Brown and her family.

Ethelyn worked as a receptionist and bookkeeper for 3 Dalton doctors over a period of 33 years.

After retiring she and a friend, Nell Rogers, had 10 wonderful years to travel. They visited Israel, Egypt, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, China, Canada, Niagara Falls, California and Hawaii.

She enjoyed volunteer work and served 40 years as a Red Cross Volunteer with Hamilton Hospital, and 26 years with Doc-Up (Dalton Organization and Churches United for People.)

Ethelyn was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 50 years and worked as an administrative assistant for 20 years. She was president of the United Methodist Women for 3 years, Circle Chairperson for many years, and an adult Sunday school teacher for a number of years.

She enjoyed crafts and raising and arranging her own flowers.

Ethelyn would like to recognize her special friends: Jackie Hall, Nell Rogers, Hazel Nix, Wanda Williams, Edna Ware and Joyce Strickland.

Funeral services will be at Love Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Reverend Daryl Hessel and Reverend Leslie Daniels officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 until 11 AM and then again immediately following the service.

Flowers will be accepted or at Ethelyn’s request memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 Veterans Dr. Dalton, GA 30721or one’s favorite charity.
