Geraldine Coffey

Mrs. Geraldine Blevins Coffey, 84, of Rocky Face went home to the Lord’s kingdom on Sunday, December 20, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hadley Coffey Sr.; daughter, Nancy Nichols White; parents, John and Lucille Blevins; one sister and two brothers.

Mrs. Coffey was born in Lynch, Kentucky on March 22, 1931 and later grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a high school junior, she moved to the Dalton area and graduated from Dalton High School in 1949. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated wife, mother, homemaker, and grandmother. Her large, loving family endures as a testament to the care and guidance she provided every day of her life.

Mrs. Coffey is survived by her children, Dorothy and Wayne Sloan of Rocky Face, Diana and Jim Keener of Cohutta, Charles “Bubba” and Betty Coffey of Rocky Face, Chris and Bill Harton of Dalton, Billy and Kim Coffey of Rocky Face, and Michael and Lesley Coffey of Rocky Face. Her surviving grandchildren are Mark and Pam Sloan of Rocky Face, Shane and Myra Sloan of Knoxville, TN, Jaime Edwards of Rocky Face, Jennifer and Robert Hosford of Rocky Face, Jessica and Larry Trimble of Calhoun, Bobby and Lisa Nichols of Dalton, Stephanie and Michael Holmes of Rocky Face, Jonathan and Ryan Harton of Jackson, MS, Stephanie and Brandon Bearden, and Chad Coffey of Rocky Face, Jeremiah and Stephanie Coffey, Hannah Coffey and Josh Coffey of Rocky Face. She is also survived by her one brother, Ralph Blevins of Draper, Utah and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Harmon officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, December 27th from 1 to 2 p.m.
