Lois Cole

Mrs. Lois Irene Gilbert Cole, 84, of Ringgold passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 at Parkridge East Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Maude Putnam Gilbert and was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Joe Ketchem and brothers, Hubert Gilbert, Mervis Gilbert, Billy Gilbert, J.B. Gilbert and James Gilbert. Lois is survived by her loving husband, Sherry Cole Sr. of Ringgold; sister, Shirley Seay of Chatsworth; daughter, Patricia Hawkins Kennedy and her husband Charlie of Dalton; son, Dwayne Ketchem of Dalton; children, Sherry Cole Jr. and Diane Cole of Tunnel Hill, Michael Cole of Cartersville, Dianne and J.W. Lawson of Hixson, TN, Randi and Vicki Cole of Wildwood and Candi Howard of East Ridge, TN; sisters-in-law, Isabelle Gilbert of Dalton and Effie Gilbert of Chatsworth; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewey Boyd officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
