Herman Edward Thomas

Mr. Herman Edward Thomas, 85, of Dalton went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Howard and Mary Etta Thomas; son, William Michael Thomas; brothers, Raymond Thomas and John L. Thomas; sisters, Ruth Coker, Lois Brock and Sue Durden. Herman was a member of Stoner Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry and working with his hands. Herman is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Clara Adair Thomas of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Martha Thomas of Rocky Face; daughters and son-in-law, Anita Thomas Goswick and Danny of Calhoun and Phyllis Thomas Feild of Dalton; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles Jimmy Thomas of Cartersville and George W. and Nell Thomas of Dalton; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Friday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home. Burial will be in Stoner Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Adairsville, Ga.
