Rev. Samuel E. Ridley

Rev. Samuel Eugene "Gene" Ridley, 71, of Dalton passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his residence. He was the son of the late Rev. Samuel Burton Ridley and Flora Morgan Ridley and was preceded in death by his sisters, Thelma Morgan and Dorothy Hudgins and brothers, Loyd Ridley and Bill Ridley.

Gene was the former pastor at Trinity House of Worship. He was a very caring man and never met a stranger. He was the type of person that would help everyone.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, JoAnn Harper Ridley of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Jennie Rene and Rod Franklin; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Ray and Karen Ridley, Ronnie Neil and Gail Ridley all of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances Rogers, Kathleen Byers, Betty Byers and Margie and J.C. Medders all of Dalton; sister-in-law, Esteleen Ridley of Dalton; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar Beason and the Rev. Clay Sutton officiating.

Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Saturday after 5 p.m.
