Esther Blackwell

July 4, 1931 — January 24, 2016

Mrs. Esther Fletcher Blackwell, 84, of Dalton passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Wood Dale Healthcare Center.

She was the daughter of the late George and Eula Fletcher and was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Blackwell; brother, Ralph Mann Fletcher and sister, Evelyn Fletcher Legg.

Esther was a member of Crown View Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Lois Fletcher Blaylock of Athens, GA; sister-in-law, Glenda Smith of Chatsworth; nieces, Linda Fletcher Alford of Loudon, TN, Carole Fletcher Crighton of Alpharetta, Teresa Blaylock Hobson of St. Augustine, FL, Natalie Davis of Dalton, Delana Lewis of Chatsworth; nephews, David Smith of Chatsworth, Tony Smith of Jasper, Keith Blackwell and Chrissie Blackwell both of Chatsworth; great-nieces, Amber Lewis, Emily Lewis and great-nephews, Greg and Mike Legg all of Chatsworth, among several other nieces and nephews; special friends, Myrna Jenkins, Clifford and Mary Helen Maney, Cliff and Joyce Wright, Pat and Jimmy Mathis all of Dalton.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Wood officiating.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m.
