Barbara F. Olds

Barbara Olds, 87, of Newton, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, in Dalton, GA.

Barbara (Dubois) was born in Waltham, MA. She graduated from Newton North High School and accepted a job as a receptionist with John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston, MA. She married William C. Olds on January 2, 1949, and had six children. After being a homemaker for many years, she worked for Sun Life of Canada Insurance Company in Wellesley, MA, retiring after twenty-five years.

She was preceded in death by her sons Michael Olds, Jeffrey Olds, and William P. Olds.

She is survived by her sister, Alma Lamb of Canton, MA, three daughters, Cheryl MacDonald, Janis DiRocco, Deborah Little, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and fondest of friends, Alice Ferguson of Natick, MA.

A private service will be held in Newton, MA, at a later date. No visitation is planned at this time.
