James Thomas (Tommy) Caldwell

James Thomas (Tommy) Caldwell, 48, of Chattanooga died Wednesday, April 22, 2009.

A native of Montgomery, AL, Tommy had lived in Dalton, GA for 15 years before moving to Chattanooga. He was a 1984 graduate of Auburn University where he majored in Sociology, Criminology and Economics.

Tommy was a passionate and committed Christian with a heart for missions and participated in and helped coordinate missions ministries and projects at First Baptist Church, Dalton where he was a member and had served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He currently attended First Presbyterian Church.

He was owner and operator of Total Leasing and Sales in Chattanooga.

He was an entrepreneur, visionary and a committed family man.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. John F. Mummah and Mr. & Mrs. Hugh J. Caldwell.

Survivors are his wife of 24 years, Marlene Casey Caldwell; children, Casey Tullis Caldwell, Mary Anna Caldwell and Christian Lee Caldwell, all of Chattanooga; parents, Hugh and Mary Jane Caldwell, Scottsboro,AL; sisters, Glenda Newton, Orange Beach, AL, and Susan Boyett, Sulligent, AL brother, Hugh F. Caldwell, Montgomery,AL; six nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga 554 McCallie Ave Chattanooga, TN, with Dr. Bill Wilson, Rev. Phillip Cannon and Rev. Chris Ailers officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
