Nancy Lindler

d. April 23, 2009

Mrs. Nancy Ivey Lindler, 85, of Dalton, died on April 23 in the Quinton Memorial Health Care Center. Nancy’s fervent prayers are for a revival to begin in Dalton, GA, and spread across the Nation. She was born on November 15, 1923, in Rockwood, TN, and had fond memories of her childhood in Chattanooga, TN, and Dalton, GA, where her father, Jess Ivey, owned an appliance store, and her mother, Minta, sold World Book encyclopedias from door to door. Nancy graduated from Dalton High School and the University of Georgia. She married Albert Henry Lindler in 1947. They had four children, Bert Lindler of Missoula, MT; Diane Seppala, of St. Petersburg, FL; Susan Stephenson of Tappahannock, VA; and David Lindler, of Panama City Beach, FL. While raising her children in Williamsburg, VA, Nancy sold the World Book encyclopedia from door to door throughout the surrounding area. Not only was she successful in selling encyclopedias, but she trained many others to become successful as well. After her divorce in 1977, Nancy returned to Dalton, blooming where she had been planted. She lived with her mother until her mother’s death in 1979. In Dalton, Nancy found a welcoming faith community at Fellowship Bible Church. The church recognized her as servant of the year and “Prayer Warrior” in 2003. In recent years, Nancy’s struggles with bipolar disorder made it impossible for her to live alone. She lived in assisted living at Peachtree Estates and at Shady Oaks before a fall required nursing home care at Quinton Memorial. Through these years, the members of Fellowship Bible Church provided love, care, and unwavering support. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26, in Fellowship Bible Church, 2044 Dug Gap Rd., Dalton, GA 30720. Rather than flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Fellowship Bible Church in Nancy’s memory. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.lovefuneralhomega.com. Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave. Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge or arrangements.
