James E. Brown

Mr. James E. “Jimmy” Brown Jr., 88, of Dalton passed away Monday, February 29, 2016.

Jimmy was born in Greensboro, NC on October 21, 1927. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War Two and was a graduate of North Carolina State University.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Brown Sr. and Laura McLeod Brown and his son, William Brown.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Brown; sister, Laura Quinn of Greensboro, NC; sons and daughters-in-law, John Brown (LeeAnn), Tom Brown (Rhonda), Eddie Brown (Rose), and Eric Brown (Kim); grandchildren, Meghann Coley (Shannon), Whitney Cathey (Matt), Jordan Brown (Michelle), Lindsey Coker (Wes), Allison Howell (Tripp), Kelly Brown, Bowen Brown, Max Brown, Brandon Brown, Pierson Brown, and Candace Brown; 6 great grandchildren; special caregivers, Melba Riddell, Wanda Nicholson, Sherry Jackson, Ethel Austin, and Latisha Thomas; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday at ChristChurch Presbyterian with Dr. Bill Dudley officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Friday from 10 until 11:45 in the Fellowship Hall.

The family asks that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to ChristChurch Presbyterian, 510 S. Tibbs Rd. Dalton, GA.
