Mr. Lee Lancaster, 84, of Dalton passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016, at his residence.
Lee was the son of the late Jessie William and Hettie Mae Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Kathleen Lancaster; his sister and brother-in-law, Syble and Jack Williams; his brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Rose Lancaster,; and, his sisters, Jean Witt and Catherine Lancaster.
He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was also a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict.
Lee is survived by his children, Ricky and Lisa Lancaster of Chatsworth; Lee Ann and John Brown of Dalton; Mark and Ellen Lancaster of Bloomfield, NJ; his brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Mildred Lancaster of Valdosta; his sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Wayne Scott of Chickamauga; his brother-in-law, Leroy Witt of Trion; his grandchildren, Kristin Lancaster, Richard Lancaster, Andy Lancaster, Meghann and Shannon Coley, Whitney and Matt Cathey, Jordan and Michelle Brown, Leah Lancaster and Mack Lancaster; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and, his beloved dog, Cody.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 12 noon in the Chapel of the Dalton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery in Trion, Georgia.
The family will receive friends in the atrium of the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Dalton First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 827, Dalton, Ga. 30722-0827.
