Mrs. Velma Padgett Parker, 89, of Dalton passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at her residence.
She was the daughter of late Fred and Florence Mulkey Padgett and was preceded in death by her husband Ed Parker; son, Danny Parker; brothers, Steve Daley, Tom Padgett, Jim Padgett and Pete Padgett.
Velma was a member of Olivia Baptist Church and was the Flower Chairman for thirty years.
She loved to work in her yard.
Velma is survived by her son, Jimmy D. Parker of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Bill Worley of Dalton; daughter-in-law, Denise Parker of Dalton; grandchildren, Chris Parker, Andy Parker, Drew Parker and Chase Worley; great-grandchildren, Christen Parker Wilkes, Christana Parker, Chrisaren Parker, Wade Parker, Everette Parker, Maggie Parker and Gus Worley; nieces and nephews; special friends, Velma's Adult Ladies Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Monday from Olivia Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Postell and the Rev. Bruce Beach officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Olivia Baptist Church on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
