Elizabeth Nelson

February 19, 1927 — May 9, 2016

Mrs. Elizabeth Price Nelson, 89, of Dalton, passed away, Monday May 9, 2016. She was the daughter of the late, Thomas and Margaret Harris Price and was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Jim Nelson and her 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Elizabeth was born and raised in Dalton; she was a graduate of Dalton High School. After graduating she worked for the Pentagon during World War II, after returning to Dalton she met Ollie Jim Nelson, they were married in April 1946. They moved to Chattooga County where she was a member of and Church secretary for Calvary Baptist Church. They moved back to Dalton in the early 80's and she was a para-pro for Rock Hill Kindergarten and a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Rodney Nelson of Dalton, Neil and Teri Nelson of Canton and Mark Nelson of Dalton; grandchildren, Eric (Amy) Nelson, Molly Nelson and Alex Nelson; many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Unity Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Marlin officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.lovefuneralhomega.com. Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.
