Willie Dee Mathis Crick

Willie Dee Mathis Crick, age 91, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Ridgewood Manor in Dalton. Mrs. Crick, born February 27, 1925, was the daughter of Morton C. and Ruth Holloway Mathis, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her four siblings, Curtis V. Mathis, Hubert Winfred Mathis, Lester G. Mathis, Sr., Ruth S. Mathis Kinsey, and her great-granddaughter, Emily S. Ware.

She is survived by her three children, Ron (Pat) Crick, Cheryl (Steve) Martin, and Pam Ware (Bruce Baldwin) and Five grandchildren, Krista Crick, Kerri Stancill (Keith), Kelly Martin (Jennifer), Matthew Ware (Sheri), and Adam Ware. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and special friend, Mary Lusk.

Mrs. Crick was born in Whitfield County and attended school at Dawnville. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1943. She attended and graduated from the first class of Vocational Nursing at Hamilton Memorial Hospital becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1961. She then worked in the nursing profession at the local hospital and nursing homes and later moved to Chattanooga where she worked at Park Ridge Hospital until her retirement.

The celebration of her life will be at Love Funeral Home at 2:00pm Friday. The family will receive visitors from 12:00-2:00 prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
