Marion "Donnie" Ellis

Mr. Marion Don “Donnie” Ellis, 81, of Dalton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Hamilton Medical Center.

Donnie was a member at Grove Level Baptist Church, Dalton. He loved his Lord and his family and was a kind and gentle man.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Ellis; parents, Des and Imogene Ellis; his sister, Margaret Shirley and his brother-in-law, Jack Gibbs.

Survivors include his wife, Joann Bragg Ellis; sister, Lynda Gibbs of Mableton; brother-in-law, Marion Shirley of Snellville; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise Sellers (Chip) of Dalton, Diane Westmoreland (Johnny) of Dalton, Donna Jones (Lonny) of Ft. Oglethorpe; sons, Greg Ellis (Tom Majors) of Tucker and Jeff Ellis of Dalton; step children, Cindy Dunn (Jerry), Gail Callahan (David), David Bragg (Dana), Yvette Bragg and Kirk Bragg (Stephanie); other cousins and special cousin, Brenda Smith of Dalton; grandchildren, Micky Westmoreland, Bucky Westmoreland, Joey Westmoreland, Abby Sellers, Ty Sellers, Nealey Jackson, Cassie Dillard, Madison Ellis and Ansley Ellis; great grandchildren, Ryaen White, Ashlynne White, Zharia Printup, Jordon Austin, Cami Austin, Maggie Westmoreland and Grady Westmoreland; step grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Level Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Kirk Bragg, David Bragg, Micky Westmoreland, Bucky Westmoreland, Joey Westmoreland and Ty Sellers serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Grove Level Baptist Church, 2802 Cleveland Hwy. Dalton, Ga 30721 or to one’s favorite charity.
