George Smithey Jr.

Mr. George Smithey, Jr., 84, of Dalton passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016. He was the son of the late George Smithey, Sr. and Bertha Patton Smithey and was preceded in death by his brother, J.C. Smithey and his sister, Linda Brown. George was a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his son, Johnny Smithey of Dalton; sisters, Willie Mae Ledford and Evelyn Roberts both of Dalton; grandchildren, Eric (Kim) Smithey and Blake (Ashley) Smithey. Nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Lonnie Starnes officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
