Mr. Clinton "Bud" Gravely, 79, of Dalton passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 2:45 p.m. at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the son of the late Clyde and Evvie King Gravely. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Avis Reed Gravely of the residence; brothers, Horace Gravely of Cedar Bluff, AL, Donald Gravely and his wife Ann of Apache Junction, AR and Gerald "Joe" Gravely and his wife Deborah of Jackson, MS; sister, Deborah Thomas of Chatsworth; uncle, Arnold King of the Dawnville community; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the owner of Bud's Rugs, a Dalton Business. Bud served in the United States Army, was a member of the American Legion Post # 112, and the Elks Club, Dalton Chapter. He also was a member of Bethel Methodist Church. Bud's family wishes to extend special recognition and thanks to the staff of Heartlite Hospice who provided timely and much appreciated support, to four special, loving cousins who were supportive and caring in the journey he made through the long treatment for cancer, Charlotte "Pat" Hunt, Betty Bartley and Audry and Donald Pilcher. Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM on Saturday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Floyd and the Rev. Gordon Delashmitt officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
