Ernest Stanley

Mr. Ernest Stanley, 68, of Dalton, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Stanley and a granddaughter, Ruby Sue Stanley; aunts and uncles. Ernest was very giving person, never letting the opportunity to help someone in need pass him by. He was an avid gardener, making a habit of growing way too much for his family so he could give the extra away to his friends and neighbors. Ernest loved to fish and had a passion for bluegrass music. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Faye Quarles Stanley of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Selena Stanley Blankenship and Matt Blankenship of Watkinsville, GA.; son, Ernest Scott Stanley of Atlanta; mother, Margie Ledford Stanley of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Bill Bishop of Dalton and Wanda Dee-Etta Raya of Dallas, GA.; grandchildren, Alana Blankenship, Jackson Blankenship, Conor Blankenship, Olivia Stanley, amd Emma Stanley; nieces and nephews; and many, many!! special friends. Funeral services will be at 11 A. M. Tuesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Talley officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. The family ask that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to Volunteer Services/ Patient Advocate, c/o Hamilton Medical Center, P.O. Box 1168, Dalton, GA. 30722-1168, to help support the food ministry for families that spend so much time in the waiting areas of the Hospital.
