Mr. James "Jim" Campbell, Jr., 69, of Dalton died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Erlanger Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late James Campbell, Sr. and Nellie Mae Cooper Campbell. Jim was a highly decorated Chief Warrant Officer and Helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. He retired as Chief Magistrate Judge with Whitfield County after 22 years of service. Jim was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Boyd Campbell of Dalton; children and spouse, Rick and Maria Carter and Tina Carter all of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sybil Campbell of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Annette Campbell Rogers of Dalton and Ione Campbell Lindsey and Arthur (Bunky) Lindsey of Ellijay; grandchildren, Cassie and Cody Queen, Carre Welch, Chase Carter, Julia Carter, Ashley Carter and Katelyn Crumbley; great-grandchildren, Carter Langford and Cambree Ridley; special dog, Sparky; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Pippin and the Rev. Steve Spangler officiating. Burial will follow in Serenity Hills Memorial Park (Chatsworth) with the American Legion Post #112 in charge of military graveside rites. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.lovefuneralhomega.com.
