Hilda Strain Bryant, born in Hill City, GA on July 9, 1919 died on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Franklin Strain and her mother Henrietta Redwine Strain, husbands Nevin J. Miller Sr., Robert L. Dailey, and Wallace C. Bryant, sister Gertrude Strain Aubrey, brothers Jack Strain, Bill Strain, Red Strain and Frank Strain. Hilda was the last surviving granddaughter of William L. Strain of Snake Creek Gap, GA.
She is survived by son Nevin J Miller, Jr. and his wife Anne of Gwinnett County, GA, daughter Janey Miller Amos and husband Michael of Dalton, daughter Mary Anne Dailey Pugh and husband Jerry of Montpielier, VA, son Richard Dailey of Clearwater, FL. Grandchildren are Nevin J. Miller III and his wife Lily of Gwinnett County, GA, Caroline Miller Foster of Lawrenceville, GA, Christopher M. Bryant and his wife Anita of Houston, TX, Wendy Bryant Klump and her husband Dan of Atlanta, GA, Chad M. Bryant and his wife Haynes of Birmingham, Al, Jennifer Pugh Chamberlin and her husband Ben of Carlisle, PA, Elizabeth Pugh Solander and her husband Dave of Arlington, VA, and Christian Dailey of Hurricane, WVA.
Her great grandchildren are Raine Harkins, Winn and Emma Jane Foster, Zoey and Flynn Miller, Zack and Peter Bryant, Mary Kate and Jack Klump, Hadley, Miller, and Carter Bryant, Morgan, Anna, Ellie and Mark Chamberlin, Marie and Henry Solander. Hilda is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the angels at Morningside Assisted Living facility in Dalton for their loving care. Also, Judy Faulkner for her long time care and companionship.
The funeral will be a graveside service at Fain Cemetery in Calhoun GA, on Saturday, August 6, at 2 PM with the Reverend Phillip Cannon officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Love Funeral Home in Dalton, Ga.
The family asks that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Dalton, P.O. Box 827 Dalton, GA 30722-0827 or one’s favorite charity.
