James "J. O." Thomas

Mr. James Oliver “J.O.” Thomas, JR, 99, of Ringgold passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016, peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Faye Thomas Hall.

J.O. was a member of Dalton First United Methodist Church since 1961.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Dot Ruddell Thomas of the residence; children, Terry (George) Farr of Chattanooga, TN, Nancy (James) Ross of Tunnel Hill, Greta (Bruce) Yandle of Auburn, AL, David (Hallie) Thomas of Port Wentworth, GA and Mark (Bridgett) Thomas of Dalton; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Dalton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Willingham officiating.

The family will receive friends in the Atrium of the Church on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until services at 3 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Dalton First United Methodist Church, 500 N. Thornton Ave, Dalton, GA 30720.
