Sue Hawkins

d. August 18, 2016

Mrs. Sue Osborn Hawkins, 94, of Dalton, passed away Thursday August 18, 2016 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Coleman and Sadie Hawkins Osborn and was preceded in death by her husband James Hawkins and son-in-law William McKenney. Sue was a sweet, kind and considerate person who loved gardening and flowers. She worked at Belcraft until it closed for business; she then worked and retired from Hamilton Medical Center. After retiring she volunteered at Hamilton Medical for 17 years. She looked forward to starting everyday with the morning paper. Sue was a long time member of Dalton First Baptist Church. She was known for always wearing a butterfly pin on her shoulder. Two things she always wanted to know, time and temperature. It was #9 on her speed dial. Sue is survived by her daughter, Virginia McKenney of Ringgold and a granddaughter Chrissie Mckenney and her husband Paul Garber of Savoy, IL. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Dalton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Atrium of the Church on Monday from 11:30 until the funeral at 1 p.m. The family asks that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia, P.O. Box 3946 Dalton Ga 30719 or to Dalton First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 827 Dalton, GA 30722-0827. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.lovefuneralhomega.com. Love Funeral Home, 1402 N.
