Eleanor Hampton

Mrs. Margaret Eleanor Alford Hampton, 88, of Murphy, NC and formerly of Dalton, passed away Tuesday September 6, 2016 in Murphy. She was the daughter of the late, Bennett Frank and Myrtle Inez Ellison Alford and was preceded in death by her husband William F. "Dee" Hampton. Eleanor started her career in the banking industry with the Bank of Dalton, which was taken over by First National Bank, and then Wachovia Bank and she retired with Wells Fargo Bank. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Elizabeth Hampton Smith and Wayne of Atlanta, Steve and Cathy Hampton of Dalton; Bobbie and Lee Hurt of Murphy and Wayne and Gena Hampton of Dalton; grandchildren, Holly (Bryan) Baer, Brad (Stasha) Hampton, Kevin Hampton, Heather Lovinggood, Julie (Jake) Stillwell, Sarah Hampton, and Katelyn Hampton; great-grandchildren, Ellison Baer, Brooks Baer, Kate Hampton, Braiden Hampton, Layna Hampton, Wayde Lovinggood, Lilah Lovinggood, Jace Lovinggood and Emmalee Stillwell.
