Harvey Halman Jr.

O’Lester Harvey Halman, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 14, 2016. He was 78 years old. Harvey loved his grandchildren, flying, trains, dogs, climbing in the family tree, and his alma mater GA Tech.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest O’Lester Harvey and Elizabeth Halman, Sr.

He is survived by the love of his life, Nancy Haynes Halman. They were married 56 years. He is also survived by his three children and their spouses, Laura and Mike Furgason, Leah and Wes Fesperman, and Alecia and O’Lester Harvey Halman III; grandchildren Michael and Amy Furgason and Kelley and Trent Overall, Lori, Katy, Leesy, Aharon, Joy, and Zoey Fesperman, David and Jessica Fesperman, Marlee and Boo LeMay, and Kristen, Cameron, and O’Lester Harvey Halman IV; and great-grandchildren Makena Furgason, Adelyn and Clayton Overall, and Emma and Stella Fesperman; and special sister-in-law and niece, Navelle Wilkinson and Lee Cruse.

Harvey’s heart was to take care of the children, so in lieu of flowers, please donate to www.reformationhope.org to assist in the construction of the New Joy House Orphanage in Haiti.

A lot of people were involved in giving us this last year and a half with Harvey, so our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all of his numerous doctors, nurses, caregivers, friends, and church family.

Funeral services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Eades officiating.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Grace Presbyterian on Monday from 1 to 3 p.m.
