Mr. Earl H. Watson, 86, of Dalton passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Gilbert and Minnie Trentham Watson and was preceded in death by his sisters, Margie Hagler, Anna Lee Thomason and son-in-law, Michael “Pete” Craig.
Earl attended Antioch Baptist Church and was retired from his own business, The Stop & Shop. He proudly served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Nelson Watson of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Bob Lankford of Dalton and Cindy and Carl Flemister of Ooltewah, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Kristy Watson of Dalton; brother, J.D. Watson of Dalton; grandchildren, Michael and Donna Craig, Jan and Mike Cross, Rob and Sonia Lankford, Gregory Lankford, Carl and Missy Flemister, Kelly Flemister, Lane Watson, Logan Watson, Lance Watson and Tyla Watson; great-grandchildren, Brooke Craig and Kyle Whaley, Brandi Craig, Brylee Craig, Layla Cross, Aubree Cross, Collin Lankford, Sara Lankford and Justin Osborne; great-great-grandson, Tyler Whaley.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with American Legion Post #112 in charge of graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Wednesday after 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 2103, Dalton, Ga. 30722-2103.
