Mr. James McLellan Manly, 85, of Dalton passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He was born May 2, 1931 to the late William Judson Manly Sr. and Mary McLellan Manly. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Nann Manly.
James was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Dalton First United Methodist Church. James worked at Manly Jail Works (doing business as Manly Steel) from 1952 until the time of his passing.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ina Fay Tidwell Manly; children and their spouses, Kay (Johnny) Wong, David (Tammy) Manly, and Mary (Tony) Carlson all of Dalton; grandchildren, Cody Manly, Ashton Wong, Aly Wong, Laura Beth Manly, AnaLily Wong, Arden Wong, Niklas Carlson, and William Carlson all of Dalton; siblings, Mary Manly Ryman (Milton), William Judson Manly Jr., and Robert Frank Manly (Gwen) all of Dalton; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 PM at Dalton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Willingham and James’ nephew, Pastor Scott Manly officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 until 8 at Love Funeral Home.
