Mrs. Lucille Pettyjohn Cook, 84, of Dalton, died Thursday, July 30, 2009.
She was born November 29, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Roland and Mattie Pettyjohn and was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Norman L. Cook, Sr.; sister, Essie Millican; brother, Ernest Pettyjohn and son-in-law, Douglas Berninger.
She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Dalton.
Lucille is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Berninger of Monaca, PA.; son and daughter-in-law, Norman Cook, Jr. and Debra of Rocky Face; sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel and J.P. Scoggins of Lafayette, GA., Betty and Bob Hix of Rome, GA.; sister-in-law, Ezma Pettyjohn of Rocky Face; brother-in-law, Kenneth Millican of Chattanooga, TN.; 5 grandchildren, Joshua (Angela) Berninger of Monaca, PA., Brent (Claire) Berninger of Evergreen, CO., Joscelyn(J) Sroczynski of Broomfield, CO., Brittany Cook and Blake Cook both of Rocky Face.; 4 great-grandchildren, Caleb and Riley Berninger of Monaca, Pa., Jackson and Ethan Berninger of Evergreen CO.; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Sunday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Hasty officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday from 5 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, 1007 Civic Drive, Dalton, Ga. 30721.
