Leonard R. Cochran, 89, of Dalton, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016. He was the son of the late Walter H. Cochran and Mabel Dunn Cochran.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. Dunn C. Cochran of Sarasota, FL, Floyd Cochran, Harold Cochran, Jimmy Cochran and sister, Wallice Swanson.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dalton and was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in World War II.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Martin Blanchard of Dalton. Also surviving are his sisters, Marie Dann of Dalton and JoAnn Cochran of Chattanooga, TN; brother and sisters-in-law, Jack and Diane Cochran, Kathryn Cochran of Sarasota, FL, Lois Cochran and Peggy Cochran; dear friends, Charles and Juanita Starks of Dalton; nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Dalton with the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:30 until 1 p.m. prior to the service in the atrium of the church.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Dalton, P.O. Box 827, Dalton, GA 30722.
