Velma Parker Joyce

Mrs. Velma Parker Joyce, 87, of Dalton passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017.

She was the daughter of the late Barney Parker and Ola Elrod Parker and was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Joyce in 2005; grandson, Tyler Rollins; brothers, Clarence Parker, Donald Parker and C.L. Parker; sisters, Dorothy Godfrey, Olene Godfrey and Audrey Ogle.

Velma was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children; Dianne and Bill Rollins of Roswell, GA, Dena and Garry Coburn of Chatsworth, GA, Greg Joyce of Dalton and Steve Joyce of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Matthew and Catherine Rollins, Cara and Austin Mitchell, Ryan Buckner and Stephanie Crawford, Lindsay and Jesse Morris and Dylan Joyce; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating.

Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1pm until the funeral hour at 3.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Grove Level Baptist Church, 2802 Cleveland Hwy. Dalton, GA 30721.
