Thomas Hogshead Jr.

Thomas Edward Hogshead Jr, 75, of The Villages, Florida, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at his home.

Tom was born May 2, 1941 in Dalton, Ga to Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward Hogshead Sr. He graduated from Dalton High School in 1959 and graduated from Emory University in 1963.

Tom was a retired school teacher. He loved to sing, and music was one of the most important things in his life. He loved to play golf and also loved a good debate.

Tom was Vice President of Marketing and PR for the Heart of Florida barbershop chorus. He also sang in the chancel and concert choirs at North Lake Presbyterian Church in the Villages.

Tom is survived by his children, Virginia Kris Parrish of Savannah, Ga and Thomas(Ted) Edward Hogshead III and his wife Stephanie Hogshead of Dalton, Ga. Angie (Patterson) and Dale Brown of Colfax, NC and David Eric Patterson of the Villages, FL. Grandchildren, Caroline Faith Hogshead and Kathryn Eason Parrish, Zachary and Amelia Brown; former wife Debbie Foster of the Villages, Florida; his brother, Frank Manly Hogshead and his wife Carolyn Hogshead of Dalton, Ga, and stepmother Jean Hogshead.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Calhoun First Presbyterian Church, 829 Red Bud Road NE, Calhoun, Ga 30701.
Visitation will begin at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 W. Emery St. Suite 3, Dalton Ga. 30720 or to the American Diabetes Association, 225 Peachtree St. NE Suite 550, Atlanta Ga. 30303.
