Betty Carolyn Turner

Betty C. Turner, age 77, a resident of Maple Ridge Health Care Center, Cartersville, GA, passed away on April 13, 2017.

Mrs. Turner was born April 6, 1940, daughter of the late James and Grace Jones of Dalton, GA. She attended the Dalton School System, and graduated from Dalton High School in 1956.

Betty attended Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. For more than 20 years, she taught school in several Georgia Counties. She worked and retired from Dalton State College in 2006. For more than 40 years, she has been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and held several offices at the district, state and national levels, including the office of National Chaplain in 2001-2002.

Survivors include her loving husband, Robert (Bob); two sons, Dean (James) and Brian (Victoria) and three granddaughters, Riley, Reese and Reagan; one sister, Lynne (Clarence); several nieces and nephews and two very special friends and caregivers while at the Nursing Home, Linda Shockley and Tony Hernandez.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the members of the staff at Maple Ridge Health Care Center, Cartersville, Ga. for their love and care during these difficult times.


Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave. Dalton, GA. 30720, phone (706) 278-3313, with Rev. Elliot Foss officiating.

Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at a later date and time.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Saturday from 12 to 3 p.m.
