Mr. Floyd Lorring Pearson, age 84, passed from this life, in Jacksonville, Florida, on Friday, September 4, 2009. Mr. Pearson lived most of his life in Dalton and retired from Shaw Industries. He was a long-term employee of Hamilton Memorial Hospital, a Veteran of World War II, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and taught the Book of Revelation as a lay person. Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Azilee Pearson and his brothers, J.C. and Willard Pearson. He is survived by his wife, Omega Foster Pearson and the four children of he and his deceased wife Mary Jewell Whiteside Pearson; Patricia (John) Jennings, Dr. Barbara (Norris) Atchley, Gayle (Robert) Powell and Randy (Regina) Pearson; 5 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 A. M. Monday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Stephen Pearson and nephews officiating.
Graveside services will be at 2 P.M. Monday at Hipps Chapel Cemetery in Blue Ridge, GA. with Rev. Delmer Davenport in charge.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Sunday from 5 to 8 P.M.
