Mr. Phillip John Hall, 70, of Dalton, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at his residence.

PJ, as he was known by all his friends and family, was born in Fulton, NY to Evelyn and Bill Hall on June 26, 1946. He attended high school in Fulton and graduated from Murry State in Kentucky with a six year degree in Health/Physical Education and English. He proudly served four years in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant in Fort Benning, GA, Fort Sill, OK and Korea. He went on to teach Health/PE at Dalton State College for 33 years. He ran a recycling business, painted houses and started a lawn mowing business. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and was well known for his collection of lunch boxes. PJ also enjoyed collecting antiques. He loved going fishing with his father-in-law in Florida every chance he got and was an avid sports fan. He was known for his sense of humor and gift of gab. PJ never met a stranger. He was beloved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

PJ was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Evelyn Hall, his in-laws, Roland and Rosene Hill and sister-in-law, Donna Joyce Hill Hall.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherrian Hall; his sons, Phillip William and Garrett Grayson Hall; grandchildren, Grace Alison Hall, Evan O’Ryan Hall and Jaxin Garrett Hall; brother, Dennis C. Hall and sister-in-law, Wendy of San Francisco, CA and their daughters, Tiffany and Whitney; aunt, Helen Johnson and her family of Fulton, NY; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra Corn of Interlachen, FL, Penny and Gary Screen of Hollister, FL, Roxanne and John Marchand of Stanton, NE; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Monday from Noon until the service at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Student Scholarships, c/o Financial Aid Office, 650 College Dr. Dalton, GA 30720.
