Mary Frances Hicks Land

Mrs. Mary Frances Hicks Land, 72, of Rocky Face passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Cochran Hicks Seritt; Father, Lewis Edwards Hicks, Sr.; sons, Tony Satterfield; brothers, J.M. Hicks and Jimmy L. Hicks; brother-in-law, David Coker. Mary was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and loved to sing. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Jerry Land of the residence; children and their spouses, Tim and Cindy Land of Rocky Face, Mandy Land of Rocky Face, Ronnie and Tina Shepherd of Dalton, and Felicia Shepherd of Ringgold; sister, Kay Coker of Rocky face; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis Edward “Buddy” Hicks, Jr. and Joyce of Tunnel Hill and Roger Hicks and Carol of Rocky Face; step-father, Jack Seritt of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Maggie Shepherd, Ronnie “Speedy” Shepherd, Dallas Satterfield, Thomas Land, Caleb Land, Jacob Land and Hope Land; multiple nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Coker and the Rev. Brandan Chastine officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
