Mr. Jack Benny Posten, age 81, of Rocky Face passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his residence. He was the son of the late Claude and Nola Posten and was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Posten Craig and brother-in-law, Clinton “Junior” Craig. Jack was born March 7, 1936 in Dalton, Georgia where he lived his entire life. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Dalton. He graduated from Dalton High School, attended Gordon Military College where he played football, and UTC Chattanooga where he played basketball. Jack was very proud of and loved his family, friends, dogs, sports, and The Georgia Bulldogs. He is survived by his wife, Joy Posten of Rocky Face; three children, Marsha Posten McKone (Kevin) of Dalton, Benny Martin Posten of Atlanta, and Claude Allen Posten of Los Angeles, CA; mother of his children, Betty King Posten of Dalton; granddaughter, Mable Adele McKone of Dalton and The University of Georgia in Athens, GA; nieces and nephews, Glynda Craig Jennings (Vernon) of Dalton and Claude Craig (Laura) of Dalton; special care givers, Faye Welch and Mary Cochran; many special friends. Jack was a fun and loving husband, father and friend. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Love Funeral Home on Saturday, August 19, at 2 PM. The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon until 2 PM. Memorials may be made to The Humane Society of Northwest Georgia, P.O.
