Mr. Douglas L. McFalls, 75, of Dalton passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017.

He was the son of the late Vernon McFalls and Sara Truelove Gandy.

Doug attended Model High School where he played baseball, football, basketball and ran track. He played football for Darlington for 2 years and received a scholarship to the University of Georgia. He was the captain of the 1965 football team, and a member of Gridiron. Following college Doug was drafted by the Chicago Bears. He worked locally for Tri-State Tractor, and then opened Super Garbage Service, where he was owner and president for 35 years. Doug was a member of ChristChurch Presbyterian.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Paula Allen McFalls of the residence; son, Brian McFalls (Angela) of Dalton; daughter, Laura McFalls Talley (Greg) of Valdosta; grandchildren, McClain Talley of Athens and Mary Talley of Charlottesville, VA; sister, Peggy Conaway of Rome; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday at ChristChurch Presbyterian, 510 South Tibbs Rd. Dalton, Ga 30720.

The family will receive friends at the Church immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, GA Chapter, 922 E. Morris St. Dalton, Ga. 30721 or to one’s favorite charity.
