Tony Dennis Reece, 71, of Dalton, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Riverdale Place Care & Rehabilitation Center, Riverdale, Georgia.

Tony was born August 12, 1946 to the late Clifton and Geneva Nix Reece and was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John S. Sirmons.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War where he was in the First Air Calvary. He was awarded the Purple Heart and multiple other medals for his service.

Tony was a graduate of North Whitfield High School, attended Young Harris College, and graduated from McKenzie Business College in Chattanooga with a degree in business. He retired from World Carpet, where he had worked in Design & Development for several years.

He is survived by his two sisters, Lavana Gordon of Dalton and Rebecca Sirmons of Blairsville; nephews, Mitch (Amy) Gordon of Adairsville, Phil and Bryon Gordon of Dalton, and Caleb Gordon of Chattanooga; nieces, Hannah Gordon of Kennesaw, McKenzie Gordon of Adairsville, Paige Gordon of Atlanta, and Shelby Gordon of Dalton.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Blairsville, GA with the Rev. Mike King and Linda King officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9 to 11 AM at Love Funeral Home in Dalton.

Memorials may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 1604 Owltown Road, Blairsville, GA 30512.
