Mary Summers Hawkins

Mrs. Mary Summers Hawkins, 85, of Dalton passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Vernie and Charlie Summers Sr. and was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Frank Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie Summers Jr., and Henry Summers and sister, Annie Ruth Summers.

Mary was a loyal member of Dalton Grace Church of Nazarene for 50 years.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Linda Hawkins of Snellville, GA, Charles and Donna Hawkins of Varnell; daughters and son-in-law, Pat Hawkins Meyer of Dalton and Arlene Hawkins Barker and Bill of West Virginia; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Summers of Dalton, Betty Summers of Dalton and Ruth Hawkins Young of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Christopher Meyer, Chad Meyer, Jacob Meyer, Jennifer (John) Miller, Jamii (Duane) Caudle, Brad Barker, Alex (Mandy) Barker, Tiffany Hawkins, Matthew Hawkins, Corey (Caitlyn) Hawkins, Zach Hawkins and Josh Hawkins; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 3 PM on Friday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. William F. Barker and Rev. Mark Amspaugh officiating.

Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 1 until 3 PM.
