Velma Faye Hill Morris

Mrs. Velma Faye Hill Morris, 83, of Dalton, GA passed away Saturday February 10, 2018 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. She was the daughter of the late, Lonnie L. and Bessie E. Shankle Hill and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lyndon H. Morris; daughter, Molly Meghan Morris; sisters, Vergie Hill Stegall and Royce Ann Hill Bowling; brother Voyatt Hill. Faye was a member of Crown View Baptist Church. She loved playing cards and dominos with her friends at the Dalton Senior Center, music, flowers and especially her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who brought joy and love to so many. Faye is survived by her children and their spouses, Phillip and Becky Morris of New Braunfels, TX, Cathy Morris Jones and Tim of Moulton, AL, Karen Morris Johnson and Steve of Cullman, AL, Elizabeth Morris Cummings and Bob of Dalton, Barry Morris and Cathy of Chatsworth, GA and Alice Morris Cassidy and Scott of East Ridge, TN ; brothers Boyd D. Hill and Rayburn M. Hill; grandchildren, Wesley, Erin, Nathan, Randi, Candice, Zachary, Ben, Trent, Cassie, Logan, Brandon, Bailey and Candace; great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Picabo, Wes, Sophie, Wyatt, Riley Kate, Carlee, Caroline, Kyler, Brody and Cade; great-great-grandchild Brielle; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at love Funeral Home in Dalton, GA on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday in the Chapel of Parkway Funeral Home, 23599 Alabama Hwy., Trinity, Al 35673. The family will receive friends at Parkway Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the funeral at 3 p.m. A private burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with Phillip Nathan Morris, Bailey Lyndon Gaines, Trent Ross Cummings, Ben Patrick Johnson, Zachery Caleb Johnson, Logan Drake Morris and Wesley Allen Morris serving as pallbearers.
